Most international students from Karnataka fund their overseas degree through a combination of partial university merit scholarships (£2,000–£6,000 or €2,000–€5,000 off tuition), family savings, and a structured bank education loan.
Fully funded government awards—such as the UK Chevening Scholarship, German DAAD EPOS, or French Charpak—are prestigious and worth pursuing if you have strong academics and 2+ years of work experience, but their deadlines close 9 to 11 months before intake start.
Automatic and early-bird university merit bursaries are far more predictable: applying between October and January for the following September intake gives you access to the largest pool of departmental fee waivers.
