How to read an overseas offer letter without missing the fine print

When an overseas university offer letter arrives, families naturally celebrate—but before paying a seat deposit, we sit down with parents in Moodbidri to verify five specific clauses in the fine print.
First, check whether the offer is Conditional or Unconditional. A Conditional Offer lists exact academic percentage requirements, backlog clearance rules, or English test band scores that must be met by a hard deadline.
Second, verify the tuition fee and whether any merit scholarship is already deducted on the offer letter or requires a separate acceptance form. Third, read the deposit refund policy carefully: confirm the exact scenarios (such as a documented visa refusal) under which the university refunds your initial deposit, and what administrative fee they retain.
